As poppies sway Upon the breeze Warm in the summers sun - Their silken petals Fluttering Speak - These words for Everyone - "Our colour is the blood you shed And when the battles done You'll learn one day that petals red Mean wars are never won" -
Thank you for coming to look at my poetry - You will see very quickly that my poetry doesn't conform to any of the traditionlly accepted styles of verse and if you happen to find a poem that does, well it must be down to pure coincidence!
My poems are built on my thoughts, dreams, memories and experiencesof this life, scribbled down primarily for myself, as part of a lifetime search to find outwhat I am, where I am, and what the hell I'm here for.
I believe that wordsare very inadequate tools we have developed for summarising and communicating the much more complicated images and emotionswe experience in our lives. After all, wordsare at best merely a pencil sketch of the image or emotion we associate with them.
When I write my poetry I am sometimes just using several words to describe that image, or emotion in greater detail,
The main themes that my poetry is exploring (philosophically) are;
The relationship between ourselves and our chemical , visual and physical environment
Our origins
The true nature of our collective conciousness (God)
The emotions we experience
Our control over our behaviour
Our relationships with one another
Key elements of the descriptions of things we visually experience and how we remember them.
Their content comes from every conceivable direction of perception and you may for that reason alone find some of them contradicting one another.
But then is that not life? - You have to look at the whole picture - and sometimes beyond the whole picture.
For that reason you may read any one of my poems and take away a totally different understanding of it than that I intended - or you may not understand them at all.
That is entirely down to your own understanding of the images my words are conveying to you.
I do hope however that you can find at least one moment of significance amongst them if you do have the inclination to read them.
I would ask that if you do read them however that you remember just one very important thing - they were all written to myself, to help me remember my thoughts at the time I wrote them, no more than that.
I hope you enjoy them and come back again and I would like to say that I am always happy to answer any questions you may have about my poetry.
Egal Bohen..
