Thinking Is A Process -Which enables Us ToSee - Unshackled -Stark -Reality -From Which We all Do flee - Can't Recognize Duality -The thoughts We Have ItSeems Confuse -Distress -But Nonetheless -Are not The Same As Dream - Thoughts Express What we might Be -That -Which we might Do -Where fits The world -Where fits Our Life -
OurBright Minds -Shining Through - The Secret Is -Which I Have Found - MyThoughts -If I Would See Is not to fit them Where I think -Their meanings -First -Would Be - For they are sometimes garbled (As oft' they are in code) -Thoughts Take a little time it seems To let Their colours show - And thoughts Are not the obvious -We sometimes Think they are -They often carry meaning -In a message From Afar - Just who you are And What you are -If you are just like me -Is something You're not sure of -But Something Flying Free - Looking For an answer -Looking Where to roam -Seeking Out your destiny -To Find a place Called Home - So Thoughts -Can be confusing - Feelings mixed -The Route Unknown - Elusive - Misinterpreted - From wild places grown - Yet Thoughts Let us explore ourselves -Discover What is best -Positively -Form Ideas -Advance what's good -Within our minds -While Quietly At Rest - The other hand -When Thoughts Are Strong -Perhaps They should Just Settle -Long Enough - To Let them set -Before We test Their metal - For having thoughts Is one thing -Believing them The next -Time Can let the smoke clear -While Considering What's best - But Thinking Is Important - More time Of Ours should fill - Thinking Got us where we are - Will take us further still - Now Whether We Are Thinking Right - Well Thats Another hill - Another hill That Man Must climb
To fill his craving thirst -For thinking around problems -Imagining The Worst - We can be sure of one thing Though -For the future That we search -We will find time -Wherever We Are - To Think About It - First
Thank you for coming to look at my poetry - You will see very quickly that my poetry doesn't conform to any of the traditionlly accepted styles of verse and if you happen to find a poem that does, well it must be down to pure coincidence!
My poems are built on my thoughts, dreams, memories and experiencesof this life, scribbled down primarily for myself, as part of a lifetime search to find outwhat I am, where I am, and what the hell I'm here for.
I believe that wordsare very inadequate tools we have developed for summarising and communicating the much more complicated images and emotionswe experience in our lives. After all, wordsare at best merely a pencil sketch of the image or emotion we associate with them.
When I write my poetry I am sometimes just using several words to describe that image, or emotion in greater detail,
The main themes that my poetry is exploring (philosophically) are;
The relationship between ourselves and our chemical , visual and physical environment
The true nature of our collective conciousness (God)
The emotions we experience
Our control over our behaviour
Our relationships with one another
Key elements of the descriptions of things we visually experience and how we remember them.
Their content comes from every conceivable direction of perception and you may for that reason alone find some of them contradicting one another.
But then is that not life? - You have to look at the whole picture - and sometimes beyond the whole picture.
For that reason you may read any one of my poems and take away a totally different understanding of it than that I intended - or you may not understand them at all.
That is entirely down to your own understanding of the images my words are conveying to you.
I do hope however that you can find at least one moment of significance amongst them if you do have the inclination to read them.
I would ask that if you do read them however that you remember just one very important thing - they were all written to myself, to help me remember my thoughts at the time I wrote them, no more than that.
I hope you enjoy them and come back again and I would like to say that I am always happy to answer any questions you may have about my poetry.
